When using the snapshot feature on the quickcam pro 9000 at 1.3 megapixals the PC just seems to sit there and do nothing. Every now and then it will take a snapshot.

Now if I lower the resolution it takes a snapshot instantly and displays it on screen.

Any ideas what I can try to get round this as it seems fine on another PC.

Are you using the Logitech supplied QuickCam software application to take the photo?

just re-installed software and deselected use full resolution and will now take a picture instantly

Glad to hear that you got it resolved!

Some general tips I can give are making sure that there is enough bandwidth available on the USB bus and trying to keep system load down. Typically, when still capture fails, it means that some USB packets got lost along the way (on the bus or in the system), and if that happens too often, the driver may give up.
